Food Shortage Riots In The USA - Closer Than You May Think

Are we facing impending food shortage riots in the USA? Let's take a look at the facts, and you can decide for yourself. Much of our diet in this country is in the form of foods produced by grains, this includes bread, bagels, doughnuts, cereals, and even beef. Beef!? Yes, Beef! The beef you eat comes from cows who eat grain - A lot of grain. A mere 1% of the US population grows our food. Furthermore a majority of the grains are grown in the midwestern US. California, Arizona, Florida, Oregon, And Washington produces much of our fruits and vegetables. But these don't comprise a large part of our diets. Illinois, Missouri, Iowa and Kansas are the epicenter of this grain production. Most of this grain is shipped to the coasts, where 70% of the population lives. 
The supermarkets don't store food for very long. The grain travels for a day to San Francisco, where it is sent through a flour mill, sent to a bakery and made into various edibles for our consumption the very next day. Nobody stores anything at all. Before the 1980s we had a system that stored grain in locations around the country. Taxpayers were funding this system. Unfortunately politicians have funneled these funds towards other things. Thus we no longer store anything. If drought that has been settling over California where lettuce is grown, and over Florida where we get grapefruit, Washington where we get apples, and peanuts in Georgia. These states produce little of our food supply. But what will happen if the droughts settle over the midwest where our main food supply is produced? Americans possess many guns, and guess what? They burned down LA to protest a court case! For food riots to occur, the whole food supply doesn't need to be wiped out. It just has to be threatened. When people finally begin to realize there is no short term solution, they will reach the breaking point, and have no clue what to do. Foreign countries cannot make up the difference, because they have no surpluses. My solution for americans is quite simple, and even obvious if you look for it. When you drive through a suburban neighborhood in any US city, have you noticed all the pretty lawns? People who want to prevent a desperate situation should replace those lawns and plant gardens of their own! It's actually really easy to do. But that's another topic, if you want to grow a garden, and reduce your dependence on the frail mainstream food supply, then learn about it and start now.
