Graduation Party Catering Tips

Graduation time is quickly drawing near here in the Summit City.  Spring is here and that means college courses are coming to an end in early May, with high schools and grade schools to follow. Whether you or someone you know will be hosting a graduation party this year, we want you to know we are here for you

In our recent post, Confirmation Catering, we talked about many key factors in planing your event as well as some of our suggestions to minimize your costs, so if you haven't be sure to take a look at that article.

Graduation is not generally a big event for grade school, however for high school students it tends to be more emotional as students enter into the real world whether it be continuing their education, joining the military, or looking for work.  Waiter on the Way wants you to enjoy this time you have with your loved ones and keep the focus on them rather then any other obligations such as food catering.  Once the big graduation party day comes, it will feel like its over in a flash if you have to "work" the entire time keeping food available, drinks cold, and ensuring that everything is setup perfectly.  Whether your catering your own event or having someone else do it, here are a few pointers to keep in mind to ensure a great day.

  • Check out the weather to plan whether your graduation party will need to be inside or outside.
  • If your party will be inside, you may need to arrange your furniture to allow sufficient standing room and space for the food line
  • If your party will be outside, consider whether you want your food outside (or in a garage) that may get warm quickly, or if you want it in your house (but then guests will be in your house)
  • If you have a spacious yard, consider renting a tent, tables, and chairs to allow guests to enjoy a nice day outdoors
  • Consider setting up games to keep guests entertained such as volleyball, basketball, or a slide show of the graduate growing up

We hope these tips help you plan out your graduation catering, and if you need any help with your catering, please be sure to call Waiter on the Way at (260) 442-3663 or visit our website at http://www.waiterontheway.biz for any additional information you may need.
