Giants Defeat the Cowboys 21-17

Eli Manning’s latest performance was just outstanding. Manning and his team literally took advantage of their few opportunities and eliminated from the post season the Dallas Cowboys.

Manning sent two passes to Amani Toomer getting a run of a yard for a touchdown and a triumph of 21-17 which set New York solid in the game in the National Conference Championship for the first time since the 2000 season.

Cornerback R.W. McQuarters intercepted a pass in the scoring zone just nine seconds before the end situation that ended the Cowboys' offensive. Dallas' failure is bigger than last season’s in Seattle when Romo failed to keep the ball for a field goal ending the game in an instant.

The Cowboys wasted a season with a good record of 13-3 so far. Dallas was the best team of the National Conference to lose in this round since the NFL included a 12-team playoffs' format in 1990. Also; they became the seventh team to lose a game in the playoffs against a team they had defeated two times previously in the regular season.

The Cowboys have lost five games in their first participation in post-season since then. Coach Wade Phillips has a 0-4 record and the team has not won a single post-season game since 1996, when they won a game as wild cards.

Jerry Jones; the team’s owner indicated on Thursday that there were all kind of errors which injured the Cowboys offensive while wasting good chances and the Giants took advantage of those errors.

In their two prior games New York granted 45 and 31 points a tight sort of situation for the team. Overall, the game was a satisfying presentation but the Cowboys were not able to keep it steady and lost many chances. What is next will be very interesting to see as more teams keep being left behind while the Super Bowl approaches.
