NFL- Pittsburg Steelers Take Denver on Monday Night Game

The Denver Broncos didn’t have a good day on Monday as they lost against the Pittsburg Steelers 28-10 at home. It seems that Denver is on a losing streak as it lost last weekend against the Baltimore Ravens. If the players thought that they would put that losing streak behind them, they were wrong, racking up two defeats in a row. Tyrone Carter, a replacement for Ryan Clark, and took the Steelers to Victory almost by himself with two interceptions. The 48-yard interception ending in a touchdown just left the crowd speechless. Clark, who suffered serious medical problems last time he played in Denver, was grounded this week as a precaution. Pittsburg coach Mike Tomlin understands that Mike is a fighter and would have preferred to play, but stated: "Ryan likes to play. He's probably hacked off at me that I didn't play him," Tomlin said. "But he will get over it." All for the best, Ryan stayed healthy and Tyrone proved that he could make it as a starter. Besides, Ryan got his wish to return on the plane with the team because last time he “didn’t make it back with them”. Carter had a great night, with two interceptions in the game. The first one gave the Steelers a 7-3 lead to send the Steelers to the halftime break with a smile on their faces. Then in the fourth quarter, with a scant 14-10 lead, safety Troy Polamalu snatched another Orton pass, this one at the Broncos 25-yard line, leading to Roethlisberger's 25-yard touchdown toss to rookie Mike Wallace. The only moment during which Denver took the lead of the game was in the opening of the second half when Kenny Peterson skillfully stole the ball from Roethlisberger’s hands, enabling linebacker Robert Ayers to take advantage and run all the way for a 54 yard touchdown that gave a lead of 10-7. That didn’t last long. Between Roethlisberger moving the team forward and their tough no huddle defense, the Steelers closed down the Broncos. “We went no-huddle, picked up the tempo and we did a good job of picking things up. The play-makers made plays - we don't care what the critics say. We get it done,” Roethlisberger said. The Steelers dominated the second half, no doubt about it. While the first half of the game was a struggle for dominance, the Steelers played tough defense in the second half and took the victory. Roethlisberger proved his worth as did Carter with his great interceptions. Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall was also confident in his team’s game: “Anyone who watches us play knows that we don't blink no matter what happens. There is always more football to be played.”
