As per my prediction the Ravens defeat the Browns on Monday Night. These 2009 NFL power rankings for week 11 might change if the Monday Night Football game between the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns result reverses. Its almost Fantastic NFL in the regular season.
Top Team 10th: Baltimore Ravens (5-4)
The Baltimore Ravens reenter the top ten at #10 this week. This is assuming that they defeat the Cleveland Browns on Monday night and will be modified if the Browns win. As the Ravens are 5-4, they recently defeated the Denver Broncos 30-7. This gives them the advantage for the final power ranking spot for this week.
The Ravens will play the Indianapolis Colts and Pittsburgh Steelers in the following weeks. Don't expect them to hold their spot in these power rankings for long; the Ravens have struggled against stronger competition in 2009..
Top Team 9: San Diego Chargers (6-3)
The San Diego Chargers debut in the top ten at #9 after a 31-23 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in week 10. This marked the Chargers fourth consecutive victory and has tied them with the Denver Broncos for the AFC West lead. Despite defeating the Chargers in week 6, the Chargers recent success compared to the Bronco's losing streak has given them a higher ranking.
The San Diego Chargers will travel to Denver to face the Denver Broncos in week 11. The Broncos won the first match-up 34-23. This was the last time the Broncos have won. Kyle Orton appears to be questionable for this game.
Top Team 8: Dallas Cowboys (6-3)
The Dallas Cowboys remain at #8 after an ugly loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday afternoon. Down 3-0 going into the fourth, the only upside for the Cowboys was that they avoided the shutout. Morale victory! Before this loss, the Cowboys had won four consecutive games, so it is not time to panic.
The Dallas Cowboys can recover from their setback with home games against the Washington Redskins and Oakland Raiders. The Cowboys can't afford to drop one of these games before entering December, where they are known for fading.
Top Team 7: Arizona Cardinals (6-3)
The defending NFC Champions are proving that their 2008 hot streak was no fluke. The Cardinals were able to pull away from the Seahawks in the fourth quarter for a 31-20 victory. They have won five of their last six games and look to win the NFC West for a second straight year.
The Arizona Cardinals take their 4-0 road record to St. Louis in week 11. Four of the Cardinals next five games are also on the road.
Top Team 6: Pittsburgh Steelers (6-3)
The Pittsburgh Steelers remain at #6 after an 18-12 defeat to the Cincinnati Bengals. This ended the Steelers five game winning streak. The Steelers were 0/4 in red zone attempts, which proved to be the difference in their defeat to Cincinnati.
Three of the Steelers next four games are against the Kansas City Chiefs, Cleveland Browns, and Oakland Raiders. If the Steelers can take advantage of this schedule, they should reassure themselves a playoff spot. If they do, they will be tough for anyone to defeat.
Top Team 5: New England Patriots (6-3)
It was weird seeing something actually blow up right in Belichick's face. He apparently felt his defense could not stop Peyton Manning had they punted. I doubt tries that if it were one of his three Super Bowl teams, but the Patriots defense is obvious not as good as it was in the past.
The New England Patriots have a rematch with the New York Jets before their Monday Night affair with the New Orleans Saints. Could the Patriots find themselves at 6-5 going into December? Doubt it, but it is possible.
Top Team 4: Minnesota Vikings (8-1)
The Minnesota Vikings remain at #4 this week after defeating the Detroit Lions 27-10. Albeit 8-1, I want to see the Vikings play some stronger opponents. The Vikings have yet to beat a team that has over five wins going into week 11. Their best victories are against the Ravens and an overrated Packers team. I am anxious to see how the Vikings respond to their December schedule.
The Minnesota Vikings can wrap up November at 10-1 with wins against Seattle and Chicago in the upcoming weeks.
Top Team 3: Cincinnati Bengals (7-2)
After sweeping the Pittsburgh Steelers, its time to accept that the Cincinnati Bengals are a serious contender in the AFC. The Bengals are a fluke away from being 8-1.
With games against the Oakland Raiders, Cleveland Browns, and Detroit Lions, the Cincinnati Bengals could find themselves at 10-2 going into their final four games. Who would of thought?
Top Team 2: New Orleans Saints (9-0)
It appeared as though the Saints overlooked the St. Louis Rams. With the Patriots coming in two weeks, they might overlook the Buccaneers. Don't expect the Saints to continue the sloppy play they had for the long term. The Saints should be 10-0 going into their Monday Night game in two weeks.
Top Team 1: Indianapolis Colts (9-0)
The Indianapolis Colts remain at #1. The Colts have no running game and a depleted defense. Still, Peyton Manning has looked unstoppable in pursuit to a 9-0 record. Will skeptics continue to criticize the Colts for their schedule now that they have defeated a good team in New England?
Peyton Manning will take on the Baltimore Ravens defense as the Indianapolis Colts face the Baltimore Ravens in week 11. lets Wait For Monday to Finalize the NFL Power Rankings for Week 11
