There are spinner dolphins to see in Hulopoe bay, and lunar landscapes at the ‘Garden of Life’ at Keahiakawelo. The Munro Trail shows scenic views of the neighboring islands. Two championship courses complete the luxury experience.

 

Hawaii’s Big Island is just that – very very big. In fact it is bigger in area than all the other islands put together. It is home to eleven of the world’s 13 climatic zones. Go prepared to find everything from dry deserts, to rain forests and beaches to snowcapped mountains. Besides the famous active Kilauea volcano there is snow atop the world’s tallest mountain (when measured from the ocean bed) Mauna Kea to see. There are waterfalls, rainforests, and botanical gardens to enjoy at Hilo which is also a great cultural hub. Water sports like scuba diving and snorkeling as well good angling for the interested are available just off the Kona Coast. The Waipio Valley also called the ‘Valley of the Kings’ offers a picturesque hike. Those with a historical bent like to visit the Puukohoia Heiau, the largest restored Hawaiian temple.  The beaches of Maui are maong the most popular in the world. Another reason why many head this way are the Humpback whales that migrate off the island every winter. The sunrise from the top of the 10,000 ft Haleakala Crater is a winsome sight.

 

Accommodation is easily available in Hawaii.  There are plenty of hotels, resorts and bread and breakfasts all over. Hawaii hotels range from budget to luxury, historical and boutique. There is no dearth of choices for visitors. The ocean breeze keeps the weather comfortable all the year round. Temperatures vary between 75? and 88? F in the summer and 68? and 80? F in the winter.
