A new twist on the perennial favorite is the Adirondack chaise lounge. Historically, a chaise is an elongated couch in the shape of a chair. Chaises have become famous in the US for their "poolside" popularity. As an outdoor chair, the chaise permits perfect tanning and ultimate summer comfort.
While millions of people have acquired a taste for the beauty and simplicity of Adirondack furniture, it never really allowed for poolside lounging and sunworshipping. The Adirondack chaise lounge solves that problem. The Adirondack chaise marries rustic style and the horizontal appeal, allowing the lounger to fully enjoy all aspects of both styles of furniture.
The Adirondack chaise lounge is generally available in a variety of woods, but usually comes in pine or cedar. Expect stainless steel hardware or zinc plated hardware with your furniture to extend longevity and avoid rust. Like any outdoor wood product, be sure to seal your lounge properly every few years to protect against sun and rain. And lastly, be sure to order an American product from a reliable manufacturer just in case you ever have to replace a slat. If the manufacturer doesn't offer replacement parts, then you could be stuck if a part ever breaks. Most American manufacturers are happy to replace parts for a nominal fee, insuring your will be enjoying your furniture for decades.
