It goes without saying that home is where the heart is. Your bedroom should be an oasis of tranquillity, where you can relax and unwind. Regardless of financial status, anyone can add a touch of glamour and class to their bedroom.
Let’s start the journey of bedroom decoration with the most integral piece of furniture in the room – the bed. Beds need not be opulent works of art. If it’s rustic charm you have in mind, a wooden bed would work well. However, nowadays, metal beds are in high demand. While elaborately carved wooden beds look stately, the metal alternative adds a contemporary appeal to your bedroom.
The next most important piece is the dressing table, which in most cases would be made of wood. Unlike the bed, with dressing tables, metal somehow doesn’t work as well. Have you ever seen steel dressing tables? Not a good look. As far as mirrors go, there could be either one large mirror or several smaller ones connected with hinges. This can be an interesting way of admiring yourself from every possible angle.
Lest we forget the storage conundrum. What do we do with our clothes, shoes, hats, books and everything else one stuffs away in the bedroom? Wardrobes are a tricky one, again, the more popular option is wood. However, for more practical purposes, I would go with metal, being more durable and practical. Nevertheless, if you have a secret admiration for classic furniture, teak wardrobes create a naturally serene environment.
If you lack the space for a separate study in your home, then a mini-study in your bedroom could serve the same purpose. In many cases, a desk or small table would suffice. These items could occupy one corner of the bedroom with an additional table lamp and vase for aesthetic appeal. Further chairs or armchairs could also be an option if added seating capacity is required.
As far as bedroom lighting is concerned, suffused lighting is an increasingly popular way of adding a romantic touch to your room. However, creative lighting would not be as effective unless outside light is blocked. Venetian blinds are a beautiful and effective way of doing so.
With thousands of new designs on the market, wallpaper can be an effective way of introducing the beauty of nature into your bedroom. Ornate picture frames can also add an elegant and aesthetic touch to any room.
