There is a real difference between shelving and racking. Racking is a more heavy duty system that is more of a standard unit, whereas shelving is a better looking system that is available in a bigger range and made out of a wider range of materials. Both can be very useful depending on the circumstances in which demand occurs.
If you have a warehouse that you are setting up for the first time, it needs to be fully equipped to be able to house all of your items, be it stock or tools. The best thing to use is racking as these are heavy duty units that come in a range of sizes and can hold the heavy weights that you will require. The shelves on the racking units come in a variety of lengths and widths, so you can often find a unit to meet your specific requirements.
You can usually purchase extra shelves so that you can modify the unit to suit. The units can be connected together by connectors so that you end up with a bigger and stronger unit that is capable of holding even larger items.
Here at BiGDUG we have racking systems that are boltless, easy to assemble and the only tool that you will need to assemble the units is a rubber mallet.
Many of the racking units that are commonly available come in a high quality finish, be it a powder coated finish or a galvanised one. There are also units with melamine shelves and these are very easy to wipe clean.

Who put the beans in beanbags?
By: Brigette | 19/11/2009 | ClothingWhen you think about it, sacks of coffee beans as the forerunner of the bean bag as something to relax on after a long hard day picking coffee seems a fitting origin for a piece of furniture whose popularity has extended over many decades. These days, of course, they use other fillers such as PVC pellets and Styrofoam which perhaps isn’t as exotic as the coffee bean, but it is probably more hygienic and still does a great job.
