How Air Conditioning Works

In a traditional refrigeration model process, a heat pump sends heat from a point that has lower levels of temperature towards another point that has higher temperature. Heat then naturally flows in the other direction. This is the most common manner in which most air conditioning systems are designed to work. Another major household appliance that works in a very similar manner is the refrigerator. This method employed by both of these appliances makes use of the manner in which phase changes work. In this system, latent heat is slowly released while maintaining it at a steady temperature. This happens while there is a phase change involving either liquids or gases. A common way for a working refrigeration cycle to be created is by using an electric motor to operate a compressor. While this may sound like some sort of system that comes straight from the automobile industry, it is also something is the very core of all systems and applications that generate cooling in one form or another. While this mechanism of action may sound very complex, it is in actual fact not all that complicated. Air conditioning systems and appliance simply use the pre-existing laws of nature and manipulate them in order to generate condensation which in turn allows for the rapid cooling of air.
