KDL40W5500

The KDL40W5500 from Sony has been one of the best selling LCD models of 2009. 40" seems to be the preferred size for most users who will appreciate the extra detail available form a HD TV set.

The KDL40W550 is rammed with the latest technology and features, designed to offer an outstanding picture quality and performance at an bagain price. The screen has a full HD screen resolution which gives you a great picture. Finished in piano black this LCD TV looks great which will look great in your front room. There is an included swivel base allow easy adjustment. The 40W5500 has a standard set of VESA mount holes for easily hanging on a wall.

The KDL40W5500 has Sony's S-Force Front surround feature which will give you a surround sound experience using just the two integrated front speakers. This is a clever feature which works by using tiny alterations to the sound to trick your ears into thinking different sounds are coming from different directions. The 40W5500 also offers voice zoom which will allows the change of volume of voices without altering the background noise. You can alter the volume of your favourite actor or singer to hear them more clearely.

Other features you will enjoy include BRAVIA Engine 3 picture processing engine and Applicast. The Advanced Contrast Enhancer ensures details remain clear and visible in even the darkest of scenes.

The KDL40W5500 has a number of eco friendly features designed to reduce energy use. Some of these settings include a Light Sensor which adjusts the level of screen brightness depending on the viewing environemnt. This helps to save energy and makes the 40W5500 easier on the eyes.

The KDL40W5500 features DNLA technology which means you can view video, photos and music from other compatible devices. DNLA compatible devices include laptops, mobile phones and media centres amongst other devices. Using this you can watch videos directly from your PC without having to transfer them to a another format first.

The 40W5050 has a massive 4 individual HDMI connectors to connect HD devices such as HD Camcorder and Blu-ray players. You will find 2 of the 4 HDMI connectros on the side of the 40W5500 making them easy to get to. This is a godsend when you want to quickly connect something.
