LED Fiberscope Cameras - Know Thine Enemy

An LED FiberScope is a camera which enables combat personnel to see inside a building where suspected criminal activity is taking place before entering it. This is very important in the field because foreknowledge of what you are facing is crucial to a speedy, efficient victory.

LED FiberScopes can be used for:

Detection of EOD Bombs

Responding to emergency hostage situations

Bomb disposal

Aside from working as a camera, LED FiberScopes can be used for collecting evidence against criminals by taking digital photographs and video clips which can be loaded onto memory cards.

Other features include:

· Articulation Controls – use a simple joystick to change the camera’s viewing angle

· Electrostatic Grounding – in electrostatic environments, a common ground point on the device along with an included grounding wire keep the device functioning smoothly

· Stress Relief – Allows for either a rigid or more flexible tube to be used when moving the camera through a confined area

· LED Illumination – a high-intensity 3 Watt White LED is included and is built directly into the device’s handle, which has a lifespan of approximately 50,000 hours

· Rugged Tungsten Shaft – the outside shaft of the device is made of high-impact Tungsten braids, which can be immersed in diesel fuel, gasoline, water, and other liquids

· Amazing Magnification – magnify the camera’s image up to 30x

· Versatile Positioning – the tip of a 6.0mm shaft can be replaced by a 90° angle tip (optional)

· Long Battery Life – the device is powered by a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery which provides 90 minutes of continuous operation on a full battery

i agree with the author but insist that the LED Fiberscope is more than just a camera used to see inside a building but a visual surveillance device. i have seen them deployed at airports when luggage has been abandoned to confirm what the contents are before security goes in. very interesting article.
