Think of a supercomputer for computer entertainment? Sony PlayStation 3 is exactly what it is. Its polished contours and superior graphics output make sure that you are hooked the moment you get a glimpse of this gadget that you also know the name Sony PS3. Splendid visual retreat auger perfect reasons for the ones who swear by computer games. And to make it into reality, Sony has populated its device with all the best of technicalities.

First and in the foremost, the gaming console comes with a cell processor that clocks a speed of 3.2GHz. There is 256MB of RDRAM, 256MB of 700MHz GDDR VRAM and HDMI video output and first of its kind Blue-ray disk support. An RSX "Reality Synthesizer," which is based on Nvidia technology, offers awe-inspiring 128 bit pixel precision with 1080 pixel resolution of video output.

Sony PlayStation 3 come in 20 GB, 60 GB and 80 GB versions. In all three, the connectivity options include Bluetooth (for the controllers), 802.11b (for PSP connectivity), Gigabit Ethernet, and USB 2.0 port. In addition to Blue ray, all the three forms of Sony PS3 offers supports for files in DVD, CD-ROM, CDRW, DVD-ROM, DVD+R, and DVD-R formats. In the 60 GB and 90 GB version, internal IEEE 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, multiple memory card readers (SD, multimedia Card, Flash card, memory stick) and a chrome coloured trim feature as a additional attractions.

Leaving the differences aside, all the three PS3 varieties come bundled with one SIXAXIS controller, one USB cable, one composite video/stereo audio output cable, one Ethernet cable and a power cable. In addition to match the internet TV demand, Sony has launched versions of PlayStations with IPTV support too. Leaving 80 GB, which comes with software emulation support for games of earlier versions of PS3, 20 GB and 60 GB versions offer backward compatibility for Playstation 1 and 2.
