With this locking feature, customers can only use the product by subscribing to a service authorized by Apple. This locking feature doesn't allow iPhone users flexibility as some users might want to subscribe to a service of their choice. Also, if a person is traveling with iPhone, the country of visit might not have iPhone authorized service provider meaning the phone is useless on the road. Keeping this in mind, there comes the need to unlock iPhone. With the latest Software release of iPhone 3G 2.2.1, all the previously unlocked iPhones were re-locked that currently cannot be unlocked by any software.
