An above ground pool is no different from any other type of pool in that it willl have to be tended to from time to time to keep it clean and free of debris. How much and how often that has to be done can be determined by such factors as whether or not you have a pool cover or how bushy your landscaping in in your backyard.
If you are even considering doing all of the cleaning by hand with a pool scoop and a brush, you should rethink your decision carefully, because it involves hours of work in the hot sun and also above ground pool automatic pool cleaners are more affordable then they ever have been before. Your pools filter is designed to keep the pools water free of all the finer debris that finds its way into your pool. If you buy an above ground pool filter that isn't adequate for your pools needs then the result will be that your pools filter will be getting clogged up. This will in turn tend to over work your water pump. What all of this adds up to, is that it is imperative that you get it right the first time when you select an above ground pool cleaner for your pool.
