Benefits of using outdoor misting fans

Posted: Nov 18, 2010 |Comments: 0 |

One of the most pleasurable experiences is to spend time with your friends or family members relaxing in your courtyard breathing open air - particularly during summer months. But the only discomfort could be the hot weather and the concomitant humidity factor that can spoil all fun and merriment.

The best way to overcome this problem is not to abandon the idea of an outdoor event but to buy a misting fan. In fact, having a misting fan at your office will also will be helpful in keeping your customers and other business visitors cool and comfortable.  From a marketing point of view also, it is obligatory on your part to offer comfort to customers who come to your business premises.

The one striking difference between the standard pedestal fan and a misting fan is the standard fans will make the air hotter and also provide no relief against the humidity factor - unless you are going to spray cold water on yourself or wear wet clothes. But this not a practical solution as the water will dry up fast and you have to keep repeating the exercise.

The misting fans are the right alternatives as it will continually spray light mist on you. As the mist is nothing more than mere water particles, you will not get drenched and the experience will be only too pleasant. The mist produced by the misting fan is extremely fine and therefore you need not fear the surrounding areas will become wet.

There are some theme parks where you would have observed mist being sprayed from some large-sized machines - at least during summer months.  Since these machines are more intended for use in public places, you can derive similar comfort at home or in your office by installing misting fans.

The misting fans come in different sizes and styles and you can select the one that will ideally blend with your outdoor decor. One easy way to shop for misting fans is to look for them online.

The two principal components of the misting fans are the actual fan and the base of the fan where the water is stored. The storage capacity could vary and the ones that hold larger volumes of water will need fewer refills. You will have to obviously choose a size in keeping with your requirements - how often and for how many hours you intend using the misting fan. You can also derive satisfaction from the fact that the misting fans are highly hygienic as the stored water is filtered for impurities before it enters the nozzles.

Outdoor misting fans function in any outdoor setting provided you have an outlet to plug in. If you are required to shift the misting fans too often, you can buy the ones that come fitted with wheels. The misting fans will understandably cost you more than the regular pedestal or ceiling fans. But the consolation is they are by far cheaper then air-conditioners. Besides, you can install air-conditioners only in confined areas and not in open spaces.

But if your requirement is very small or you are on a tight budget, you can always opt for a hand held misting fan where the water is stored in a small bottle and you manually press a knob to release the mist.

As regards maintenance, there are only two things that need to be maintained - the fan motor and the unit that sprays water. As such the maintenance cost will be rather negligible.
