The rose has been associated with romance and affairs of the heart for centuries, and is still today a popular flower featured in gardens around the world. The garden rose comes in a variety of shapes, sizes of colors, and although the it has a reputation for being a difficult plant to keep and grow, it can easily make a beautiful addition to your garden.

  • Hybrids have been developed during the last century, that are far more resistant to the problems older varieties were susceptible to. Hybrids tend to produce more blooms, and have been bred to ensure that they do not lose the fragrance that lovers of this plant  associate with the beautiful blooms.
  • New hybrids have allowed new varieties , including climbers, ramblers and miniature roses. Miniatures are great for people who don't have much garden space. They can be grown in pots, and can be brought indoors for up to four weeks.
  • The garden variety is a timeless classic, but has not escaped the internet revolution. You will find a number of reputable suppliers online. If you don't like the idea of ordering your plant from an online store, you can at least use the site to gather more information about gardening, as well as care details on the specific type you have chosen.
