What makes organic gardening different from conventional gardening techniques? The simplest answer is that organic gardeners choose to use natural or organic materials and methods, avoiding artificial chemicals to increase their production. The two main areas that distinguish organic gardening are: 1) the application of fertilizer and 2) the fight against pests.

Natural Fertilizers: Better tasting products?

Although there is no scientific evidence that the use of organic fertilizers should produce better tasting products, most organic gardeners who beg to differ. We may accept the notion that we are ingesting too many chemicals in our food, limited use of chemical fertilizers can produce better tasting and better quality product. The use of organic compost to replace chemical fertilizers is one of the most common way to fatten your culture. Other solutions include the use of tea plant origin, such as compost tea. The use of organic matter also restores the soil by increasing organic matter content.

Rid your garden of Pest course

Organic gardeners use natural pesticides stems from concerns about pesticide residues on foods, groundwater and soil. Many reports have linked a number of health problems to exposure to pesticides, which many consumers and producers shift towards organic products.

So how can we fight against pests garden naturally? Firstly healthy organic soil that produces healthy plants that can fight garden pests themselves.

Other biological pest control products based on plant extracts, such as oranges and lemons. D-limonene, which is the active ingredient in citrus oils, kills many flying and crawling insects on contact. Destroy the respiratory system of the insect, an insect essentially suffocates.

Another goal of all organic products pesticide is made from the Neem tree. Neem oil is produced by pressing the seed oil, neem does not kill parasites directly feeding, rather than discourages insects from feeding on plants that are covered, in essence, starving parasites to death. Neem oil can be used on vegetables, flowers and ornamental plants. Another beneficial aspect of the use of Neem oil is that it is non-toxic to birds, mammals, beetles, spiders and bees.

As you can see, there are many options for organic gardeners to both develop and protect their products without the use of synthetic chemicals. There are many organic compounds present in nature that are effective natural repellent to pests and others that are beneficial to the growth of an organic garden.
