Potting Shed Plans – Do you Need a Set?

My wife really gets into her flowers. Her gardening tool collection amazes me; I did not know it was possible to collect that many tools. She has pots and bags and fertilizers and all the other things that enable flowers to grow and grow. Well, there was so much of it that I could not fit anything else in my garage. I decided to go online and find a good set of potting shed plans. Her birthday was coming up so I figured that if I could find a set of potting shed plans and build her one, I would be forever in her good graces.

This might be a good idea or it may not be, I thought that if I did a bang up job of it that she would probably love it. Regardless, I was amazed at all the different variations and functions that a potting shed can have. You can build the structure mainly for storage but you can also add many options as well. You can install a small workbench inside or add a roofed in porch; that way she could work in the shade when it was hot and sunny or work inside on rainy days.

Your shed can look good as well, and fit nicely into any backyard landscaping theme. Most people think of a shed as just being a four walls and a roof to store stuff; well sometimes they can take on a life of their own. Your imagination and budget are the only limitation.

I strongly advise you to get a good set of professional potting shed plans; if you do you will have a much better idea of what materials you will need. Any good set of blueprints will have a material list that will specify exactly what materials you will need to complete the project. You will also be able to have a budget because you will know exactly how much it will cost you for the supplies.

If you live in North America you will more than likely need a building permit before you can start construction. In order to comply with most local zoning laws you will need a detailed set of plans before a building permit can be issued.

The first thing you should consider for your new project, is what type of foundation you intend to use? A good set of potting shed plans will usually give you some options there. If your foundation is wrong then everything you build on top of it will be defective. You will not have very long to enjoy your new shed if you don’t get this one thing correct. Another thing to consider for your project is how are you going to finish it? Use a good quality paint or wood stain to make your project both beautiful and to protect it from Mother Nature.

I cannot stress the importance of using a good set of potting shed plans to build your project. You could look in your bookstore, library or your local building supply store. Another place you could look, and my personal favorite, is on the Internet. You need to be careful there because if you try to use the free plans found everywhere you will get yourself in a mess because these plans ore not complete.

Have you been trying to find a simple solution to your storage needs? If you are looking for an easy way to build the shed you need, then look no farther.
