There’s nothing better during summer than sitting in one’s own garden under glorious blue skies and enjoying the company of your family and friends. With the men from the Met Office predicting that this summer will be sweltering, it’s time to either buy new garden furniture or get the existing set out of winter storage for the forthcoming nights of open air enjoyment.
Over the past decade the types of garden furniture readily available at affordable prices has grown hugely. So, if your current set is in need of renewal or if you don’t yet possess any garden furniture you’ll find that there is a fantastic choice on offer at the nation’s garden centres, and DIY stores.
For summer 2009 there are many different garden furniture sets available in various types of wood and metals; from compact two-seater metallic cafe-style sets ideal for a small patio, right up to luxuriant 10-seater extravagant real wood sets with large, solid tables and magnificent parasols. So, depending upon the size of your garden or patio you might be in the market for something such as a simple two-seat set or something more luxurious such as a set of glorious Indonesian Wicker loungers. Regardless of price most garden sets also offer the option of adding matching furniture, such as sun loungers, comfortable cushions and parasols; all essentials for lounging around and enjoying outdoor living.
This year has seen resurgence in the bistro style mosaic tile tables accompanied by a pair of metallic chairs, perfect for patios large or small. Also back in vogue are real wood garden furniture sets for those who can afford to splash out a little extra. For a co-ordinated look buy a parasol, cushions and sun lounger or two all in the same style. Parasols come in a variety of shapes; square, round or hexagonal and emblazoned with stripes, solid colours or just presented in the perennial favourite of white.
Or you may prefer a modern all-metallic look with woven black fabrics; that too is readily available from a variety of outlets. Perhaps a trip to the local garden centre may be the best way to decide. Many major garden centres have a large range of garden furniture all set up for you to try and decide which would fit best into your garden. All you have to do then is pay, have it delivered and look forward to a cracking summer in the open air!
