Types of Refrigeration Equipments for Catering Business

Establishments like restaurants, hotels, cafes, bars and stores widely make use of commercial refrigeration solutions in order to function smoothly. However, commercial units are not just meant for the use of restaurants, these are also extremely useful for catering business.

In a catering business it becomes very important to keep the perishable food items at a cool temperature till the time they are to be served. Without the right kind of unit it becomes impossible to keep the dishes fresh till serving time.

Catering refrigeration can be done in various different ways; there are catering refrigeration units that are made for every type of need. Some of the most popular types of catering refrigeration units are as mentioned below:

  • Serve over’s- serve overs are the most important units in catering refrigeration. These units are especially designed to keep the food at the required temperature till the time they need to be served. These come with a glass cover which makes it possible for the guests to view and select the food items.
  • Bottle dumps and chest freezers- in a catering business it is also important to serve the drinks at the right temperature. Bottle dumps are catering refrigeration units that are made especially for storing bottles and beverages. These are available in several different sizes and the smaller units are quite easy to transport to the desired catering location.
  • Multi decks- multi deck units are made in an upright design, with glass doors. These units have several different decks or rows which make it possible to store several different types of food items and beverages. Customers can view and choose their food item without having to open the door.
  • Bottle coolers- bottle coolers are made especially for chilling wine and liquor bottles till the time they need to be served. These units have glass doors and come in an attractive design, the racks are adjustable which makes it possible to store any sized bottles.
  • Patisserie displays- these units are designed especially to display pastries and chilled deserts attractively while keeping them fresh by maintaining the required temperature inside the unit. These are extremely handy for storing desserts, most of which are perishable over a short period of time.

In any catering business it is extremely important to serve quality food that is fresh. Keeping food fresh even after a few hours can be made easy with the use of the right kind of catering refrigeration unit. Choosing one is not difficult since there are several different brands, styles and designs available suitable for every kind of need.
