Christmas Stocking Fillers

Christmas Stocking Fillers can be pretty hard to find and at a reasonable price if you are out hunting for them quite late and just before Christmas. The small things in the markets tend to rise in price rapidly during the festive seasons.

Christmas Stocking Fillers are basically small little things that are used to fill up the Christmas socks put up near the chimneys. It need not necessarily be a sock; it can sometimes even be something like a sock but a bag.

There is actually a history behind the Christmas stocking. It is believed that there was an old man with three daughters in a village and he was very poor to get anything for his family for Christmas. Santa Claus came to know about this and decided to help the poor man. But Santa knew that the man would not take any charity and hence crept inside the old mans house one night and decided to drop in three bags of gold that Santa had. When Santa had sneaked into the house he did not know where to keep the bags and so he looked around. Santa found three stockings which belonged to each of the girls. Santa decided to drop the gold in to these stocking. This in turn had made kids hang up stocking near their chimneys. They usually get small gifts and presents through these stockings. Christmas stocking fillers might be as small as bathing soaps or even small piggy banks or something that might be useful and exciting for the children.
