Our Fathers care for us in ways that are different from our mothers. Mothers care all day, every day but dads seem to take care of the big stuff. They go out to work, they put out the rubbish, they cut the grass and they sort out the video and the computer (OK, I know, so do lots of mums). Who picked you up from all those parties? Who helped you decorate your first home? Chances are it was dear old dad. Show him you love him and appreciate him by choosing him something he'll love this Father's Day.
Father's Day - some Great Father's Day Gift Ideas
Dads really do deserve to be spoilt on Father's Day. Whether you decide to treat them to a day of thrill-seeking adventure or buy them some delicious smellies they've earned it. Here are some great ideas they cannot fail to love.
They say a way to a man's heart is through his stomach so what better way to start Father's Day than with a fantastic cooked breakfast. Give him the works - some men can be grumpy when they get hungry so don't take any chances. A happy dad is a happy family. Why not serve it on a new plate decorated with hearts to show how much you love him.
Give him the day off. A day to do what truly makes him happy whether it's out on his bike, tinkering without restraint, watching football, strumming his guitar, a round of golf or making that Airfix kit up. The best kind of day off is one that can be enjoyed guilt free.
Book him a treatment. Most men are really bad at treating themselves to any kind of pampering, and I think some men put dentists into that category. A nice back massage or a proper shave and head massage.
Give him a boys film night, watch one of those films with him that you usually dissappear fifteen minutes into (if you haven't fallen asleep). Let him choose, get lots of snacks and keep awake.
If you have small children keep them away from him in the morning and let him have a lie in, undisturbed. If you are sinful and have a tv in your bedroom let him watch Match of the Day on Sunday morning with breakfast on a tray, the newspapers and his own teapot and Daddy mug.
Get the children to decorate a mug for him that he can treasure. If they're not up to that then what about an I Love You Daddy mug or personalise one with his name or their hand or footprints (if they're really tiny).
Do something with him that he'll enjoy. Instead of dragging him around the shops let him take you to his choice of venue whether that's a fishing trip or lunch at his favourite pub.
Don't forget Grandpas! How about membership to the National Gardens Scheme? He can drag you (or well-behaved grandchildren) around private gardens up and down the country to his hearts content from April to October.
Dads are very special and I'm sure they can sometimes feel that they are just there to pay the bills. Whether it's your own dad or the father of your children, make sure this year you show him that you really do value him and appreciate everything he does for you all.

Are There Easter Gifts you Can Give That Aren't Solely Chocolates?
By: Andrea Cox | 04/02/2008 | GiftsEaster is a lovely holiday. It's like Christmas without the pressure of weeks of shopping and catering preparations. It also marks the beginning of spring; a change in season that is always welcome, particularly when the weather is expected to improve. The days are getting longer and brighter and outside is less bleak. Leaves are budding on the trees, bulbs are starting to peek through the muddy flower beds and your cat starts hunting again (those poor baby birds).
