The Jerusalem Stone links us to the holy land and to friends everywhere.
As we get close to that time of year when so many people want to celebrate religious holidays, it is always hard to know what to give as a meaningful holiday gift that will be treasured beyond the duration of this year’s holiday season.
For those of us who are part of large families and have elderly grandparents visiting over the holiday season, buying armfuls of gifts that have to be carried home in discomfort is somehow not the message we want to convey. Older members of the family will often come for two weeks, seldom move from the house for the whole of the holidays and return home feeling exhausted! As we get older, a holiday gift that carries true affection and meaning rather than a bulky cartload of trivia is more appropriate and definitely more appreciated.
The Jerusalem Stone is a little piece of the Holy Land and quite simply one of the most beautiful gifts that can be given to symbolise all that is Jerusalem. The streets of Jerusalem have a unique aura that it is impossible to emulate but this small part of the Jerusalem hills will bring the Holy Land as close as it is possible to be without actually being there.
The Jerusalem stone is taken from the hills of Jerusalem and carved by skilled local craftsmen to make it both beautiful and easy to carry around. The stones that were used to build the ancient and holy city are the same stones that were trodden by Jesus’ followers; Roman legions; citizens of the Ottoman Empire.
The Jerusalem Stone comes in a soft velour embroidered pouch and is small enough to fit into a purse or pocket. It is certainly one of the most touching holiday gifts you could give and one that will be kept close and treasured. The Jerusalem Stone For Two is a beautiful holiday gift for grandparents as there are two stones in an attractive presentation pack – one for each; or one to give and one to keep.
This year, try giving a gift that carries a little more sentiment than weight. Bringing the Holy Land into the home of a loved one or special friend is the most wonderful gesture you could make over the holidays and this little piece of history inspires us all as we imagine all the stories it could tell if it could only speak!
