In reality, true life and business skills are all mindset skills and are therefore difficult to access without having any previous experience of how to use 'self knowledge' techniques. The alternative starting point is to clearly decide and confirm what you want to achieve. You can set your goals by making sure you use your mind - once you take on board this concept you'll find it relatively easy but I really recommend that you take the effort to CONFIRM that what you've decided is really compatible with your actual mindset rather than some idealized image of what you would like to become. Remember, you've already got everything you need to succeed so why try to change yourself? To get yourself really started in the right direction you can get some sound 'how to' secrets absolutely free with no obligation from http://SuperPowerMindset.com
You have enough self skills already to succeed in life and business.
But to be the best you can be, you need to find ways to access and understand those skills, not try to learn even more new stuff only to find that you are still no further forward.
If you truly believe in yourself, you must believe in yourself as you are NOW, not how you might be some time in the future.
Make time to look at your skill set and discover what you've really got. If you apply what I refer to as the 'skill test' to all the high powered (and high priced) courses and books around, you'll realise, once you've become 'skill aware' that they aren't teaching you new skills -- they're just going to increase your knowledge.
And with increased knowledge, very often comes increased confusion and therefore lower achievement levels. It is my firm opinion that virtually everyone of just ordinary ability and maturity has enough skills to succeed in their chosen field although maybe they don't realize this or perhaps they haven't yet gained enough confidence in their own abilities.
So, what I'm saying in this article is that you should know for absolute certain that you most definitely have all the self skills that you need.
But how can you access and understand your skill set, which has been developing throughout your whole life, mostly without you realizing it?
You could start by trying to write down what skills you think you have. But you'll almost certainly find that they are very much harder to define than just ordinary knowledge. Most people don't have enough of what I consider to be a very important type of knowledge to enable them to do this - self-knowledge is the name of the game.
You really, really need to develop self knowledge to be able to access your self skills.
But this can be difficult stuff to deal with when you're keen to start realsing your life and career ambitions. An alternative approach which is easier and quicker, but still sound, is to very clearly define and confirm to yourself what you really want to achieve.
I'm not talking about the conventional methods of writing things down, prioritizing, visualizing, repeating your goals over and over to yourself.
I'm proposing a couple of relatively simple but unconventional techniques which involve using your mind as distinct from your brain.
All the standard self improvement stuff actually involves using your brain -- with the exception of visualization which is a very important mind technique. You need to think of your mind as the all important powerhouse that drives you whereas your brain is more concerned with routine, relatively low key tasks.

New Year's Resolutions, Aim Low This Time Around
By: Kasan Groupe | 21/12/2009The New Year is just around the corner which means that it’s time to start making a list of all your flaws. For some reason the arbitrary date of January 1st denotes a time of change in Western society. It’s a cruel joke that the New Year falls smack dab in the middle of winter when most of us can’t even get off the couch to clean the bathroom, let alone a complete behavioral overturn. If you have any hope of keeping your resolutions this year, you’ve got to stop being so damn ambitious.
New Year Resolutions - Why Don't They Work?
By: Don | 23/12/2009 | Self HelpMany people make New Year Resolutions with the best intentions even though they know that they've failed to keep them in previous years.
