Law of Attraction: Money is Sunlight!

Our culture is geared toward making things happen. It's in our language: we make money, make appointments, make decisions, make promises, make time, make love. We even make babies.

We're different that way from agrarian societies, where it's more common to use the word "grow" instead of "make" in everyday terms.

Looking at it this way, it's pretty easy to see how we can block the Universe from helping us with our tasks. If we're making everything happen, how can the Universe rise to support us?

A goal isn't a widget that we need to make (or make happen). A goal is a seed we plant.

After planting a seed, we nurture it -- give it water, pull weeds and protect it from being crushed or devoured. We also do what we can to see it gets sunlight.??We don't make the sunlight, though, and we don't tug on the tender new shoot to get it to grow. We let the Universe take care of that.

In terms of our life goals, we wouldn't make it a goal to create a year with 361 days of sunshine. That would be absurd, not least because it's squarely out of our control.

It's the same with goals about money. Wanting a million dollars is like asking for 361 days of sunshine. What works better is to plant seeds and let the Universe take care of the sunshine. When you do your part, which means feeling happy and clear about your goals, taking focused action steps and holding a positive focus, then the Universe can do its part by bringing enough money to grow that goal. But you can't have it the other way 'round. You can't save up sunlight for when it's time to plant your seed.

You don't need to know how the money will come to support your goals, any more than you need to know and manage the weather in the next 15 minutes. Do your part and let go of the rest!

What can't money buy? We all have experiences that transcend what's available for purchase, and frequently they're the kinds of things we didn't even know we wanted, or couldn't have imagined. A commonality in all of these stories is just showing up. Not having it all planned and arranged in advance, but being open and available to what the Universe might have in store. Law of Attraction: Escape the Limits of Cause & Effect
By: Karen Romine | 08/05/2008 | Motivational
The scientific method has now been taught to generations of school children. Some of us walked away thinking, "hypothesis, experiment, worked out, proved my idea, great, when's lunch?" But it's not proved. It's passed a test, yes, but the variable circumstances under which the hypothesis will fail have simply not been found. This may seem like a subtle clarification, but I believe it has tremendous value in freeing and empowering us to create our best life.
