I t's New Year Resolutions time. Its quite interesting and exciting to have new year resolutions. But too often these days people need a guideline for making those resolution happen and too often they stumble upon some self improvement nonsense. The problem is that we set too many goals. Beter to set few goals but very important. If they are too many ,each of them will lose their importance and if we forget about them. We have ideals, dreams and great goals but all we wind up wishing is money, more money, prestige and things that do not truly make us happy. For starters( cause I really know that ,few of us really accomplish their goals and turn their dreams into reality, a few of us have the will to make it happen) we should begin by setting one or two major goals. It is enough. Accomplish those two and it really is enough. Then we set another two o three goal. Bit by bit. And because are few they will really seem very important. Here is a liitle monolgue I found interesting and I want to share it with you :
"Aaah yes its New Year's Eve. Its funny you know somehow. A new year its always so promising. Yeah definitely this year ill do this ill do that , itl be the best year ever. And this goes on an on every year. Ok This year I will finish my book. I will really. I said it last year too you know. What happned you ask? Well , you know new job and stuff and some problems , two many obstacles , anyway this year can take no more delay. I will finish it writing. Yeah cause anyway this year will be better.
Darn right every year is the best, you know but somehow someway some crooked god succesfuly stopped us and we had so many obstacles. Yeah, but I ll never give up hope. And anyway if i cant make it happen this year it will happen the next year, right ? Right ? Comone i have a lot of time , no probs. Its true i said the same thing for years ago. And I was right, i was young and I still am.
Ok if you have any advice for me cause i know you are just dying to give it to me just go ahead.
Ok, you asked for and advice. Here s an advice from your inner voice whom you are not listening to very often. I know very well, and please pliiiiiz do not deny it, you looooove procastination. Yes you do, come on. Let me just say what I have to say and I will be on my way. Its this possible paradox this days : Procrastinate procrastination, delay the delay. Look here pal your life cannot suffer any delay. This year cannot suffer any delay too. Now I know you have been very indulgent and tolerant with yourself, arent we all, and i ve laid low and have been quiet. But now i have to tell you buddy : You have lived a quarter of a century now, for years you have had time to accomplish any goal to make possible any dream but you refused it cause you kept delayin it and so their importance diminuished soo much that you almost forget them. And this is very very sad. I assume you are here on this planet in this world with some mission to accomplish. You have been given by God this privilege. I know you dont understand this fully, and you keep bitchin bout your life. But listen to me you ingrate gnat, you cry baby : It is a n honor for you to be here and for everybody, its an honr and a privilege to be hear and it is a privilege for you to understand this. The missions you have been assigned are your goals, you dreams , you ideals. Forsake them and you forsake your mission, you forsake yourself. Now this is what i had to say. the rest is up to you. Have the will to accomplish your most unimportant goal and you wil hav the will and power to move this earth ! "
Bottom line is : procrastinate procrastination and most important be thankful for all the good things that made you happy this year !

By: Anirban Bhattacharya | 02/01/2010As Walter Elliott famously quoted it, perseverance isn’t just about long races; it’s about many short races in a row. The words of Elliott seem to have inspired few of the most successful entrepreneurs of the contemporary world. One such example that’s perfectly fit for this context and that has just come to my mind is Shamit Khemka – the young entrepreneur.
