Set Pace Now: Set Goals for Personal Growth
1. Always look for a new challenge
Many of us do not experience growth or any sense of personal accomplishment because we do not challenge ourselves to do more than we expect of ourselves. When we learn a task, we usually fall into a routine habit and develop a comfort zone. Once we've created that comfort zone, the odds of making a change is very unlikely.
Other folks become bored with the everyday routine, but will do nothing to change the situation. when a person creates new challenges, the opportunties begin to open up for that person in a major way. When a challenge is faced "head-on", we embrace adversity and use those obstacles as learning vehicles and this leads to personal growth.
2. Learn how to evolve and change with the times
Constant change is inevitable and there's nothing anyone or anything can do stop it. Unless we learn to adapt and make the necessary changes with the times, (i.e. financial literacy, technology) we will remain stagnant and will never reach our goals nor will we experience any growth.
3. Pay attention to people that create intensity
Creating intensity is the essence of setting the pace. Intensity can be a driving force in taking action and it should not be ignored. In order to experience personal growth, we cannot settle for being "average". We have to take initiative, and we have to surround ourselves with creators of intensity. This is a character trait of those that constantly set and achieves goals. People who experience personal growth usually have the ability to focus upon their goals with intensity. Too many of us disregard negatives and will remain in the same situation because we are unwilling to make changes to ourselves.
In closing:
To experience true personal growth, we must:
Get excited about our current tasks
Show gratitude for each opportunity
Develop a sense of self-discipline
Recognize and learn to manage our weaknesses
Maximize and utilize our strengths
Don't take ourselves too seriously.
Goal setting and personal growth should be performed in steps. One step at a time is all we need to achieve personal growth.
