Shamit Khemka – A True Visionary

Fortune has a lot to do with the mindset and approach one has towards their goals in life. The eternal thirst for excellence and innovation paves the path for fortuity. Take the case of Shamit Khemka – the CEO and Founder of Synapse India. It was his yearning for continuous excellence that made him a renowned name in global offshoring arena at such a young age.

Success doesn’t come by just wishing. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to be where Shamit Khemka is today. Being a true visionary, he had clearly made up his mind to step in to entrepreneurship at a young age of merely 19.

Owing to his inclination towards information technology, Shamit refused to follow his family business of flour mills. With the launch of Pharos Infotech in 1994, he introduced the first ever BBS (Bulletin Board System) with emailing facility to the Indian markets.

His quest for innovation did not stop there. In 1998, he came up with another venture called Sampatti.com – India’s first online real estate database and directory. Indian realty industry welcomed Sampatti.com with open hands and the web site won a lot of applauds among the real estate investors.

Synapse India, the recent venture of Shamit Khemka, came almost a decade ago in 2000. Since its inception, the company has been growing at a remarkable pace – showing 100% year on year growth. Beginning with a meager strength of a few employees and modest investment, Synapse India has shown exponential growth during the short span of nine years. Today, the company employs more than 250 dedicated employees. The CMMI level-3 accreditation, Microsoft Gold partnership, NASSCOM and FICCI certification are the stamp of the excellent and consistent performance delivered by the company.

A commerce graduate from St. Xavier’s College, Shamit is a man with a vision and immense potential to make his vision come true. His intelligence and wisdom is evident from the fact that he is holding the prestigious EO chair while still maintaining the upward success trend of his brainchild Synapse India – one of the leading offshore service providers in India.
