Artificially creates a hierarchy among man, promoting a wealthy and 'privileged' class. Sport that historically is dominated by rich people allows for large-scale tournaments that require large lots, disturbing surrounding areas, re-locating people, etc. The expensive golf clubs match their royal status. Golf is about the rich utilizing their strength in land and money to create a large footprint for themselves?  Demands minimal or no physical exertion, yet touted as a sport. For the same amount of energy, other 'games' are available. May just for elegant life. When people satisfy the enjoyment offered by material, the spirited desire is labeled high. Then golf can meet people's desire that high-grade sports or entertainment with the title of elegance and gentlemanly grace leads the trend.
