It is well known that everyone of every age and background needs exercise, and golf is one way for people of a mature age to get out and at the same time they are enjoying themselves in a fairly competitive game or a lone game they reap the benefits of fresh air, sunlight, and walking. Tough it is wise at any age to warm up before putting the body through any type of exercise.
A golfer is also using muscles and doing stretches and bends without ever even thinking that he is exercising and if properly warmed up without any risk of injury, which is important as any age and in every state of health. So, the golfer exercises their mind and their body all in one game out on the golf course. Of course for it to give the body real benefits just as any other type of exercise the person also must follow good living habits such as proper diet.
According so some studies that have been done not only is golf a good exercise for any ages but it also is a leisurely enough sport for those who have heart problems. There have been studies and published reports about the heart patient and using golf as a way to exercise safely.
Walking according to a published medical article from the Harvard School of Medicine the average course when playing a game of golf can have the golfer walking up to four miles, and if a golfer were to walk the golf course three to five times a week this would be optimal heart healthy exercise.
One great way of looking after your health is to book a golf holiday. What better way to relax! Popular venues in the UK include Bidford Grange, Foxhills Golf Club and Matfen Hall.
