Love me, love my dog
If you are a sports enthusiast, fall is often the best season. If you are a bride looking to have a golf themed wedding the scenery of a golf course in the fall is the perfect backdrop for your ceremony. The challenge is to unite two seemingly unrelated themes into a beautiful and harmonious whole. It is about combining high class sophistication with subtle but quirky touches that shows you and your groom's love of golf. There are many ways to plan your fall golf wedding but you may not know quite where to start here are some great tips for decorating and wedding favors that will make your nuptials unforgettable.
The first concern is the venue. As just mentioned a great option is to go for an outdoor wedding. This works because Nature knows best how to adorn itself. The riotous and intense color of the fall season will be an ideal background for the greens of the golf course enhancing the beauty of your surrounding without overshadowing them. A great suggestion is to use fall colored floral arrangements as part your ceremony décor.
You can add subtle hints like bouquet band s that have golf motif or having the seats decorated with different golf paraphernalia. The goal is to include golf in your fall wedding as accents to your autumn decorations. If the weather does not permit this, go for an indoor wedding. This is great because you can bring your interpretation of autumn indoors. This will allow you more free reign with decoration. The key point is still to use restraint as in the high class confines of a country club you still strive for your ceremony to have a refined look.
The next thing to think about is reception. Most likely you will already have the excellent services of the country club's on-site catering to see to your guests' dining needs. If you choose to go with someone else that is fine too. In either case, you need to keep this in mind if you want to have a touch of fall added to the menu. You can go as true to theme as much or as little as you prefer. What you want to do is make key courses the ones that match theme and present it in a bold and colorful way. For example the soup course can be butternut squash or pumpkin. The main course can be turkey, roast chicken, or Cornish hen. In the case of desert you can go with apple pie or tarts or spicy and sweet pumpkin pie.
When choosing your wedding favors for both golf and fall themes, you might it difficult to find items that match both. A good idea is to purchase items that are made for each specific theme and mix and match them. A good way to do this is by giving favors as a set. For example match a golf pen favor with a fall theme notebook. You can also do this with edible favors as well. For example you can use seasonal flavors. Like chocolate by giving chocolate golf balls as favors. You can also pack seasonal baked goods like pumpkin pie, honey, or apple pie into golf themed favor boxes.

By: Tinny | 22/12/2009 | Golf5. I am such an idiot. At Winged Foot in 2006, Phil Mickelson had three major titles on his resume and the chance to finally land the big one that got away. Phil had suffered U.S. Open near-misses at Pinehurst, Bethpage Black and Shinnecock Hills, and all he needed was a par at the 18th to win this Open, or a bogey to force a playoff. You know the rest. It was Jean Van de Velde all over again, only with trees instead of grandstands and a water hazard.
