Jack Nicklaus, "The Golden Bear", is an outstanding PGA Tour player in the late 1960s and the early 1970s. Born in a pharmacist family, he was supoorted completely from the rich family. And in the early age, Nicklaus had showed some extraordinary talent in golf, 10 years old, he had got 51 points on the front nine holes; from 12 to 17, he was always the champion In Ohio junior golf tournament; 19 years old, Nicklaus won his first U.S. Amateur Championship; when he won the U.S Open runner-up, it is 20 years old. Wining the U.S. Amateur and stepping into the top golf players line at the age of 21, and 22 years old, Jack Nicklaus won the Amateur Championship again. It is the same year, he turned into a professional player.

In 1962, he turned into a professional player and earned only 33.33 dollars in his first event. But things quickly got better, and he won his first major that year, defeating Palmer in an 18-hole playoff at the U.S. Open.

When he was 25 years old, Jack Nicklaus had won a total of 18 career major championships while producing 19 second place and 9 third places in major events on thePGA Tour, so he is widely regarded as the most accomplished professional golfer of all time. Nicklaus did not play many tournaments because he wanted to focus on the Majors, but is still second on the PGA-tournament winning list, with 73 victories.

By the age of 26, Nicklaus had completed the career grand slam and became the youngest to do so at the time, and then he won all the majors a second time. And finally, with his 1978 British Open victory, he'd won them all at least three times each. His final major came in 1986, at the age of 46, with his sixth Masters.

Nicklaus played sparingly on the Senior PGA Tour, but won 10 times, including 8 senior majors. He founded and hosted the prestigious Memorial Tournament on the PGA Tour.

Nicklaus brought power to the forefront in golf, being the longest driver of his generation. But he also was one of the best clutch putters ever, and his concentration skills were legendary.

Along the way, Nicklaus created his own equipment company and has designed hundreds of golf courses, and the golf course company is one of the largest in the world. In 1974, Jack Nicklaus was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame.

Except for those above, Nicklaus has also taken part in various off-course activities, such as golf course design, charity work and book writing. Nicklaus' books vary from instructional to autobiographical, with his Golf My Way considered one of the best instructional golf books of all time; the video of the same name is the best-selling golf instructional to date.
