Precautions before performing golf cart maintenance

A Golf Cart is a small low speed four-wheeled vehicle that has open sides and a roof. Golf carts usually have two or four seats. Golf carts get their name from the fact that they are most often used as transportation on a golf course. A golf course is not the only place you will find golf carts being used. People who work in manufacturing plants sometimes use a golf cart to travel around the plant quickly. Golf carts can also be used during hunting trips.

Most gold carts run on electricity. The energy required to operate the gold cart is stored in lead batteries. Proper maintenance of the batteries of a golf cart can ensure it reaches its maximum lifespan. Lots of people who own golf carts do not think of their golf cart as a vehicle that requires maintenance, and are very surprised when their golf cart stops running. Why did my golf cart break down? I recharged it everyday. Proper maintenance of a golf cart involves cleaning battery terminals and checking battery electrolyte levels to make sure they are at levels conducive for optimal performance. If your golf cart is not running there you should examine your batteries before taking your golf cart to a Golf Cart Repair Service.

Before handling your golf carts batteries you should take proper safety precautions. Find a pair of safety goggles and rubber gloves to wear. Electrolyte solution can splash into your eyes causing pain and possible damage. It is important to protect your eyes. Electrolyte solution can also irritate your skin if it comes in contact with it so be careful to avoid skin contact. Wearing rubber gloves can also prevent electric shock from handling batteries. Clean the battery contacts of dirt and debris. Water must be added to some batteries occasionally to raise electrolyte levels to make contact with the battery anode and cathode.

Phil had suffered U.S. Open near-misses at Pinehurst, Bethpage Black and Shinnecock Hills, and all he needed was a par at the 18th to win this Open, or a bogey to force a playoff. You know the rest. It was Jean Van de Velde all over again, only with trees instead of grandstands and a water hazard.
