To improve your golf swing, your stance is of primary importance. You want to keep your body weight equally balanced on both feet. Keep your muscles loose and relaxed; try not to stiffen up. Bend at your hips when hitting the ball with a small flex in your knees. Also, you want to keep your spine erect; never round your back.
Your grip on the club is also key; a good grip is essential for a good swing. If you are an experienced golfer the overlapping grip will probably be better for you. In the overlapping grip the little finger of your right hand should be over the index finger of your left hand. This is a good grip for those with strong wrists and forearms. For beginners r those with weaker wrists the baseball grip would be better. It's basically the same as the overlapping grip, but the fingers don't overlap they just touch each other.
Your follow through is also extremely important. After hitting the ball, your goal is for full release of the club (just don't lose your grip on it, we don't want innocent bystanders getting sent to the nearest hospital). You want your head to rise with your right shoulder and your chin above your shoulder. Your head should face the target for completion of the follow through.
Practice your swing at the driving range several times without hitting balls, then when you have the feel for it, start hitting balls at will. Put these golf swing tips into practice on the driving range for as long as you need to until you feel comfortable and more confident. Remember the keys are to relax and really focus on where you want the ball to go. Try not to dwell too much on swing mechanics. This is where most players go wrong, your swing should be natural and feel natural.
