I'm loosing hair. It comes out both as individual strands and in locks. I believe the hair loss is all over, but of course I notice it the most around my hair line. I suspect that my medication might be to blame. I began taking Lamictal right after my son was born. Initially I attributed the hair loss to normal post partum hair loss but it didn't stop. My son is now 8, I'm hardly post partum. I've read suggestions that selenium and zinc deficiancy in relationship tp medication could be to blame. So my question: Is there any real studies indicating that selenium and zinc supliments can help?

Hi! I hope someone can help me find an answer to my hair loss. I am 43 and my hair comes out when i take a shower, lots of it. My scalp is pinkish-red and burns. I have very small bumps spread out around my scalp. I had my Thyroid check along with hormones, iron and everything is normal. Both my parents in their mid sixties have their hair so I don't think it is hereditary. I read that staph in the nose can cause hair loss. My doctor did a nose culture and it showed Enterobacter Aerogenes. What exactly is this and can this cause hair loss? I thought it could be my water I'm on town water. I thought it could be my shampoo and products which I have changed. Are there any diseases or allergies that can cause hair loss. Thanks for your help! Maria
