When your computer breaks down it can be frustrating as well as overwhelming. Once you get past the initial panic it is time to get down to business and find out what needs to be done. First off if you don’t know, even remotely, what the problem is then keep your paws off of it. Trying to fix your computer yourself is often difficult and many times it leads to more damage and more out-of-pocket costs when you finally do call a computer repair person.

It can be very difficult to find a computer repair person. You should begin by looking for computer repairmen on Craigslist. You should attempt to find someone within ten miles of your home. If this does not work try typing your zip code into Google along with ‘Computer Repair.’ This may return many hits depending upon where you live.

If this does not work for you, or perhaps your computer is broken down to the point where you cannot look online then you should look in the phone book. Find computer repair in the yellow pages and call the numbers there. You should interview the prospective computer repairmen before setting an appointment. You want to try to get the Best Computer Repair Service possible. It is at this time that you would ask them for a price estimate and ask if any discounts are available.

When you are out on other errands you should keep your eyes peeled for any computer repair shops near your home. Lots of times these shops are small, or some people do computer repairs in their home and you should look in yards and on homes for signs. You may also see signs posted at major intersections in town advertising computer repair. Jot these numbers down. It is often helpful to drive to a different area of town to check for any computer repair shops. If you don’t often drive in a different area this means that you don’t know what businesses have opened up since the last time the phone book was updated.

If you don’t prefer any of these options you should always check with the store you purchased your computer from. If they do not offer computer repair services then they will probably be able to recommend a computer repair person in the area.
