Crestor Lawsuits - Urgent Health Warning for all Crestor Users, Crestor Recall Being Demanded

Crestor lawsuits: In August 2003, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Crestor (rosuvastatin calcium), the latest of six cholesterol reducing drugs called statins. Crestor is approved as an adjunct therapy accompanied by a low-cholesterol diet and exercise program to reduce the overall level of bad cholesterol in the blood stream. It was also touted for raising levels of High-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol (HDL-C)-good cholesterol-in many cases.

However, several consumer groups are asking the FDA to recall Crestor due in part to the reported serious complications within five months of Crestor's approval. These groups cited three patients who developed kidney failure or muscle damage while taking the approved doses of Crestor. One 39-year-old woman died of kidney failure and rhabdomyolysis. In studies prior to Crestor's approval, seven other people became ill with rhabdomyolysis.

Crestor side effects have been the subject of much recent controversy, perhaps more so than any other cholesterol lowering medication introduced to date especially in light of the Baycol drug recall. Baycol, similar to Crestor was touted as a "super statin" before its recall from the market. Despite numerous objections from medical researchers and reputable consumer groups, including Public Citizen, due to safety concerns, the drug was approved by the FDA in August of 2003, and launched a month later.

The original application filed with the FDA by manufacturer AstraZeneca was delayed due to safety concerns during clinical trials. There were reports of kidney damage and a life-threatening condition known as rhabdomyolysis, a breakdown of muscle cells. Since its approval, Crestor has been linked to cases of rhabdomyolysis, renal failure and at least one death, and began triggering Crestor lawsuits.

In addition to serious muscle and kidney problems, much research has shown that Crestor side effects could include sexual dysfunction and performance problems, as well as liver damage, memory loss, personality changes and irritability.

Crestor lawsuits are being filed all over the USA, all users and patients who have taken Crestor are at risk, and many people are being awarded significant compensation for their injuries, pain and suffering.

If you've taken Crestor it's absolutely critical that you fill out this Crestor lawsuit consultation form, which will tell you if you qualify for monetary compensation from taking Crestor.
