Pregnancy is an absolutely natural phenomenon and witnessing changes in the body are inevitable as the body grows to accommodate the growing baby inside. In most cases the complications are minimal and only some problems might be faced by the expecting mother in the last few days just before delivery but there are exceptions when the mother needs more attention that others and in these cases the state should not be neglected as it deems constant monitoring. To start with, experiencing mood swings and emotional shifts is a common occurrence, you must not worry if you feel anxious, scared, doubtful or excited and impatient about the changes you are experiencing. You can maintain a journal to keep record of your changing state on a day to day basis. Plus it will work out to serve as a memento in years to come.
The moment you think you might be pregnant, visit a clinic and confirm the pregnancy. Once you know that you are pregnant, you must bring some immediate changes. For instance if you are a smoker or drinker, you should give up these habits because alcohol and tobacco are not healthy elements for your unborn child. Also if you are taking any medicines that have been prescribed before, check with a gynecologist to be sure that they do not have side effects on your pregnancy. Pregnancy normally lasts for 40 weeks or 9 months. This period is divided into three trimesters. While your body grows from the first month to the last, you will see changes in your body constantly. These changes cannot be strictly segregated into the three trimesters but more or less are experienced as they have been listed below. Since pregnancy is understood from the first day of the expecting mother’s last period, at the time of conception, the child is actually two weeks old.
The first trimester spans from the first week to the twelfth week. During this phase, your periods stop, morning sickness develops and you are bound to feel nauseated and giddy, your breasts swell slightly and begin to feel tender, the nipples get darker and broader due to hormonal changes, you feel the urge to urinate more often, you would experience heart burns and feel tired very often, mood swings and headaches are also common symptoms. There are barely chances of any unfortunate occurrence unless of course you are not leading a normal life and avoiding unnecessary toils but if you feel any uneasiness, check with your doctor immediately.
During the second trimester which spans from the thirteenth week to the twenty sixth week, you may begin to feel your fetus moving, you would start gaining weight, the skin of your stomach begins to stretch as the stomach begins to swell, your breasts grow bigger, your nose may bleed occasionally, there might be swellings on different parts of your body for which you must consult a doctor immediately, a dark line emerges between your naval and the pubic area and you might notice skin pigmentation but these should disappear with the pregnancy coming to an end.
In the third trimester that spans from the twenty seventh week to the fortieth week, the naval will push out, you will experience body aches, you walk a little differently trying to accommodate the addition in weight, you might run out of breath occasionally and sometimes get urges of contractions. Do not worry as these only mean that you are going to have a successful delivery.
