I bet this is something that you have experienced at least once in your lifetime; whenever you are in a hyper mall browsing through the personal care products section. You come across shelves and racks of beauty and skin care products that have some or the other celebrity promoting a range of wrinkle cream or an eye contouring gel. And next thing you realize is that you are going green with jealousy because you no longer have the skin you used to have few years ago.

The immediate human reaction is to go for that anti aging skin care product with a desire to look like the celebrity who is enticing you with a flashing smile on his/her face.

But you know what? That person probably has been paid in millions to wear that smile on face. In many cases the people who endorse these products wouldn’t even know the price of that cream or a lotion let alone the chance of them actually using it.

Most cosmetic companies; in a race to compete with each other rope in a big celebrity with hefty amount of money and then they are forced to cut corners in required R&D, quality & active ingredients. There are many claims that you will find on these anti aging skin care products but there is always a fine print that you need to be aware of.

This basically calls for consumers to do some research in how these products are manufactured, what goes in these products and what are the real ingredients that make an anti aging skin care product more effective.

First: Turn a blind eye to all these glossy and sleek advertisements instead start believing yourself.
Second: Spend some time researching the ingredients of the product that you are looking for.
Third: Everything that glitters is not gold. An expensive anti aging skin care product need not necessarily be effective.

The answer for question one is simple: Cosmetic companies pay huge amount of money to celebrities as endorsement money. And eventually recover that money from end customer.

And answer to second is: Today’s consumer is liberated we know what we are looking for but let’s admit we are not scientists we are still consumers. What we do not know is; that these products contain very low amount of active ingredients that actually work on our skin. Without the right amount of ingredients an expensive anti aging skin care product is nothing but a moisturizer.
