Biofeedback Devices - Highly Effective Therapy

Biofeedback devices are devices that give feedback regarding our biology. As a broad generalization, MRI's, X-rays, PET's, EKG's, EEG's, and even simple thermometers can all be considered biofeedback devices because they all provide information about the state of our bodily workings. Different biofeedback devices measure different things, with some examples being blood pressure, temperature, muscle tension, heart rate, and sweating.
More traditionally though, the term "biofeedback device" is usually used to describe equipment that shows in real-time, as it's happening, the physiological effects of our thoughts, emotions, attitudes, perceptions, and mental processes.
People are realizing that the use of biofeedback devices is important because an ever-growing number of doctors and scientists are coming to the conclusion that negative thoughts and emotion stress are a major underlying factor in the development of all sorts of physical diseases and health issues. It's also becoming more and more well known that the body is in a constant state of regeneration (healing), but that its ability to do that more effectively depends upon us letting go of stressful negatives in our lifestyle.
Biofeedback devices are highly useful and effective in addressing stressful negative emotions because most people don't yet have an understanding of what thoughts and emotions are actually positive or negative. That might sound absurd, but when you hook a person up to a heart rate variability (HRV) biofeedback device for the first time, they are nearly always in a constant state of learning. Many times it's even surprising to them at which mental processes produce stressful physiological responses.
When you can see what thoughts are actually beneficial or harmful, you learn to let go of negatives, and focus on positives instead. Then, once the stressful negatives are let go of, the body then has the energy and ability to heal itself. When sources of stress are removed from our cell's environment, our cells can then switch from operating in a defensive protection mode, to a healing growth mode.
Biofeedback is scientifically proven to have a powerful, positive effect on your emotional and physical well-being by teaching you to alter your brain activity, blood pressure, muscle tension, heart rate and other critical bodily functions. With the use of these clinically proven tools you can access the power of your mind to directly change your state of health, and this is all done in a completely safe manner that doesn't involve negative side effects, prescription drugs, or any other type of risky medical procedure.
Most importantly though, they help us remove the REAL root of disease (stress on the cells), instead of simply focusing on the symptoms and side effects (disease) of that stress.
There are many ways in which stress negatively affects our biology, physiology and cognitive abilities, and because biofeedback devices give us an instantaneous look at those negative effects, they allow us to find, and eliminate, virtually all sources of stress in our life.
The implications of this are downright profound when it's fully grasped. A biofeedback device, along with our automatic bodily responses, is essentially a system that can determine the difference between what is beneficial and what is harmful, or from an expanded point of view, the difference between truth and falsehood. That's right, your body knows the difference between truth and falsehood, and it responds accordingly. Now that's something to be excited about.
In essence, biofeedback devices simply teach you to "listen to your heart", and to watch your mind. They allow you to become aware of what used to be unconscious psychological activity that was working against oneself, without even having to visit a practitioner that points out those negative thought processes to you.
By being provided with an instant biofeedback response, the person learns to take conscious control of their thoughts, thus gaining greater control over one's mental activities. Greater control over your mind naturally means greater health and happiness in your life because you then learn that happiness can simply be chosen at any and all times, despite life's circumstances and situations. We also come to realize that the source of stress was never outside of ourselves. Rather, it was our inner perceptions, beliefs, and interpretations of the world that were the real reason we experienced stress.

A Beginner's Guide to Meditation By: Craig Burton | 31/07/2007 | Health Meditation is one of the most powerful tools for transformation. Unfortunately for many conventional people it is a "bit too out there," so it is put in a box only to be used by the likes of martial artists and yogis. I believe meditation however need not be put in a box for the few but is a tool we all inherently know but just have forgotten how to use it in daily life.

How do I let this go?
By: Maggie | 13-07-2008
I recently came out of a bad situation at my last place of work. I was horribly treated by a boss whom I previously had a great relationship with. What happened was she used me as an easy scapegoat for something that she totally mishandled. She also brainwashed my other coworkers into believing I did horrible things. She pretty much forced me out of the door by telling me my work was not up to par and that if my work didn't approve that she would fire me. This is came only a couple months after she told me to apply for a promotion and I completed an advanced degree. I have since left and gone onto another job (a different line of work) and am so happy at my new place of employment but I cannot seem to let this situation go i.e. I cannot stop thinking about how horrible I was treated. I have always had a problem with forgiveness but believe this situation is magnified as I was not able to control the situation at my old job as I did not want to make matters worse by telling on my boss in my exit interview as I thought this could potentially harm my current employers relation with my old company. Any advice on how to try and start letting the anger I hold go?

I am 17 and when I was 13 I was molested...
By: Miss_Me | 13-07-2008
I am 17 and when I was 13 I was molested by a teacher over the period of a year. I have seen counselors and whatnot but I still don't know the extent of what happened as I (apparently) blocked out memories (eg. only remembering walking into a classroom and then the next thing I know I'll be leaving ten minutes after the bell). I would have panic attacks and nightmares and it would only be then I've get snippets of what happened but I'm doubting my own memory and don't wish to make false claims, if my mind is filling in the blanks incorrectly. Is what he did punishable by law? My school pretty much swept it under the rug because they're seen as an "up there" school and the only thing they did was change my classes and berate him and my parents didn't want me to change schools because of what happened because then "he would have won". I also know that a similar thing happened to a lesser extent to my friend but she was too scared to come forward. Does anyone have any advice? Please? Also, I don't know how to respond properly to sexual contact and have been unable to maintain relationships if the guy moves anywhere past a kiss. I know, in my head, nothing will happen and I'm meant to enjoy it or something but all I can remember is foreign, unwanted hands and feeling absolutely petrified. I know what I'm feeling isn't normal. Help? Also, I don't know how to shake off the stigma that's been attached to me as I told one of my "friends" in confidence why I had changed classes and she told a skewed version of it and now people think I am "an attention seeking, manipulative slut" (their words) and the idea has stuck since then. Any idea how I can set them straight without spilling my personal life? Any advice appreciated.I know this is long - I'm really sorry, but I've never been able to ask anonymously for help before and this isn't even the half of it :(Thanks for any advice, in advance :)

Wat would you do if you had a son or daughter who was angry at your whole family (aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters, brothers,) for a reason you weren't sure of, and they chose to estrange themselves from the family? What if you had made several attempts to write, call, visit, this person and they wanted no contact and gave you no explanations, and your heart was broken?
