Birth Control Drugs

Birth control drugs are used to avoid unwanted pregnancy. Various birth control drugs are available in market are ACTOS, ALDARA, AMARYL, ANUCORT-HC, AVANDIA, etc. Birth control pills are preferred by many women prevent unwanted pregnancy but both the partner should discuss about birth control as both share responsibility if an unwanted pregnancy occurs. It is important to have a discussion if you want to keep safe your opponent from sexually transmitted diseases. There is variety of alternatives for both men and women so they can decide and choose the method that suits their health. Consulting your physician or pharmacist about birth control drugs or side-effects is necessary if you are having some health problems.

The bleeding and pain during your monthly period decreases through the birth control drugs. The chances of cancer of the ovaries and uterus also decrease through these pills. These pills have some other disadvantages also such as your mood may be change suddenly, appetite for sex decreases, suffer with queasiness (upset stomach) and increased risk for blood clots. May be your weight start increasing fast and appetite also increased. Other problems you may face like between periods, less frequent periods, breast pain and vaginal dryness. These all are other desired therapeutic effect of a drug and it varies depending on the person's disease state, gender, ethnicity, age, weight and general health. 40% of women which are taking birth control pills will face during the first three months of use the side effects of one kind or another. The bulk of women have only minor, transient side effects. Some of the side effects which are uncommon but may be dangerous are as follows:

• Heart attack - heart attack chances are small if you are using birth control pills unless you smoke. Studies have shown that the occurrence of heart attack in women of age 35 years or older is more if they smoke, which is why pills are generally not prescribed to women in this age group who smoke.
• Blood pressures - small increase in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure of women is possible if they are using birth control pills.
• Migraines and stroke- risk of migraine in users of birth control pills is more than the non-users.
• Blood clots (Venous thromboembolism)- risk of having a blood clot in the legs or lungs increases slightly if the women are taking birth control pills.
• Headaches- women who have not previously had headaches may faces headaches and this will be getting those who do.
• Nausea and vomiting- after the first few months of use This side effect usually could be prevented by taking the pill with a meal.

• Breast tenderness-this is a common problem during first month that your breasts may become tender or may get larger but uncommon thereafter.
• Depression- your mood may change and you will feel severe depression.
• Breakthrough bleeding or spotting- in the first cycle of pills or if pills are missed or taken late you may face Spotting or bleeding between menstrual periods. This problem is also very common.
• Decreased appetite for sex-some women experienced a decreased interest in sex.
• Weight gain- due to fluid retention or estrogen-induced fat deposits in the thighs, hips, and breasts, the weight of women increases. They are not able to do enough physical activity or increased intake of food.
• Diarrhea or vomiting- this is also very common problem face by the women who are taking birth control pills.
• Not suitable for everyone-some women have health problems like diabetes, liver disease, cardiovascular disease, etc so these pills may not suits them.
• Chloasma- skin of your upper lip starts darkening, dark circles below the eyes, or on the forehead but these will be faded after you stop taking the pills, but in most cases, it is permanent.
