Choosing a lens for my eyeglasses: polycarbonate vs. high index
By: sfraibe2 | 27-05-2008
I am debating between high index and polycarbonate lenses, and I am getting conflicting advice. I do not have a high perscription, and I understand that high index are generally for people with high perscriptions because they are thinner and lighter. However, an optician I recently spoke with said that these lenses also have a greater focal range than polycarbonate--i.e., the polycarbonate tend to be focsed only at the center--and that there are also small lines of color at the edges of things with polycarbonate lenses. Is this information accurate? Please help.
