Try Thalassotherapy and its body wraps.

What is thalassotherapy?
Thalassotherapy is a rediscovered treatment based on an ancient belief in the natural healing properties of seawater. The word itself was coined in 19th Century France from the Greek "thalassa" meaning sea and "therapeia" meaning healing. Today, thalassotherapy is used as an alternative treatment for medical conditions, for relaxation and stress reduction as well as a favourite method of anti-aging healing by maintaining healthy circulation in the body.

The main objective of thalassotherapy is to increase blood circulation that is reduced by the depletion of vital minerals caused by stress, poor diet and pollution. Since the chemical make-up of seawater is so similar to that of human blood, immersion in seawater when heated to body temperature results in trace minerals and ions such as magnesium, potassium and calcium sulphates being absorbed directly by the skin.

This not only increases blood circulation but has beneficial effects upon the pores of the skin such as toning and moisturizing. Thalassotherapy also helps to detoxify and nourish skin, as well as to relax the body. Cellulite is generally attributed to poor blood circulation and a build-up of toxins.

Benefits of thalassotherapy
• Muscle toning and skin cleansing
• Weight loss aided by improved metabolism
• Improved cardiovascular functioning
• Boosting of the immune system
• Improvement of sleep quality
• Relief of symptoms of eczema, psoriasis, back and muscular pain and stress

There are different forms of thalassotherapy one of which is the body wrap. A
body wrap is a treatment where you are covered with a body mask made of algae, seaweed, mud, clay, lotion or cream, then wrapped for about 20 minutes to keep you warm. Later the product is either rinsed off, or peeled off, depending on the product. The product expels toxins from the body in the form of a liquid through metabolic stimulation.

Because thalassotherapy first became popular in France, some of the best spas in the world can be found along its shores by the seawater; thalassotherapy hotels in France are also becoming increasingly popular. The body wraps by Alta Care Laboratoires are made in France. An Altadrine body wrap is very practical because it is a peel-off, thus there is no need for rinsing or showering after the treatment; in other words it is not messy as other body wraps. It can also be easily done at home, though at a spa it will be complimented by a massage.

Application of a body wrap is quite simple. The powder of the sachet is placed in a bowl and water is poured into it; it is then stirred quickly and vigorously for one minute until a homogenous paste is obtained. The water has to be at 20°C. The paste is then applied and it sets in approximately 9 minutes following the application. The wrap is then let to perform its function for about 20 minutes, or according to the type of wrap being used. Finally the wrap is peeled off, in one piece. There are a series of wraps, according to the treatment desired; it could be slimming, firming, anti-cellulite, specifically for neck and breast, joint and muscle discomfort relief.

A single cup of coffee or 2 tablets of Altasterol Caffeine Pro+ may be enough to trigger these beneficial effects. The Australian Institute of Sport team found that caffeine triggers the muscles to start using fat as an energy source rather than carbohydrate sugars.
