Can You Survive The Water Fast Diet?

With course of time more and more people are becoming conscious about their health .They are also becoming aware about the dangers of chemicals, various types of additives and toxins which are entering their bodies and causing various health hazards. Different methods of detoxification of the body are being considered. Detoxification of the body means to trigger the body's system to begin a purification cycle leading to elimination of the waste products and toxins that have accumulated in the body over a period of time.

The body's defense mechanism is compromised to a large extent as the body stores these wastes and toxins. Deterioration of the immune system may lead to many life threatening diseases along with whole host of other health related problems. Before beginning a water fast regime, it is always advisable to prepare for this kind of diet well in advance. Few days before starting the water fasting diet eating raw fruits and vegetables and drinking fresh juices is recommended. While searching for information on the water fasting diet, you will understand that preparing the body by taking easily digestible and light diet will help your body to overcome the jolt of not having any food in the system once you begin the water fasting.

After the first day of fasting and consuming only water, the body will begin to utilize the stored fat cells as it's resource of energy to meet it's requirement for various body functions. The body will begin to eliminate the toxins and free radicals which are stored in the fat cells. Drinking plenty of water during few days of fasting will help the system to flush out the impurities until once again the body is clean and functioning efficiently. Within the first couple of days of starting the water diet, you may experience some dizziness. But this is normal and very much expected.

Water fasting diet is not advised for a long period of time and it is not to be continued for more than a few days. After the fat cells are utilized by the body for fuel, the body starts using muscle tissue as a energy source. If your system begins using too many muscle tissues, it can be harmful and can cause malnutrition. Malnutrition will in turn compromise the functions of the immune system which in turn will invite many health problems. This will defeat the actual purpose of strengthening and improving overall health.

There are many people who are attempting the water fasting diet and also swear by it. Water fasting is certainly more effective than other diets and methods used for detoxification and also the detoxification and it's effects are noticeable faster, but caution is the word in following this type of diet. The body uses energy stored in the liver during the first 3 days of water fasting. The body does not use it's fat stores until after the 3rd day of fasting.
