Hoodia Gordonii products manufactured by the company Desert Burn are claiming to be the first and original Hoodia herbal supplement in the market today. The company is claiming to be the pioneers of this supposed diet marvel. But pioneers or not, the main question at hand is this: does Desert Burn Hoodia actually work?

Basic facts

Desert Burn Hoodia first came out in the Fall of 2004. Desert Burn Industries came out with the first Hoodia herbal supplement even before it caught the attention of the media. It was only when 60 Minutes did a story on Hoodia that the herbal supplement became popular.
In April 2005, Desert Burn Industries became the first USA company to establish a factory in South Africa Hoodia plantation. Since then, Desert Burn has been working with South African farmers in producing only the finest Hoodia plants in the world.

What are its effects?

Desert Burn Hoodia variants include pills, liquids, and food bars. Like the Hoodia plant, Desert Burn Hoodia functions as an appetite suppressant, staving off hunger by tricking the body to make it believe that it is full.

Is it safe?

According to the Desert Burn official website, the Desert Burn Hoodia is guaranteed safe and effective. However, the fact still remains that the Desert Burn Hoodia is yet to be approved by the US FDA, so the question of its safety still remains.

Furthermore, a study conducted by Pfizer has revealed that taking Hoodia can be harmful to the liver, as Hoodia contains a chemical that cannot be easily eliminated or cleaned by the liver.

Does it really work?

That question would be hard to answer. Consumer testimonies vary when it comes to the effects of Desert Burn Hoodia. But scientists all agree that for a Hoodia herbal supplement to be effective, it should contain nothing less than 100% pure Hoodia extracts. According to reports, only six Hoodia products contain 100% Hoodia, and one of this is Desert Burn.
