Probably one of the most recent fads in America is the detoxification of the body and colon cleansing. However, it is not a new procedure. It has been practiced by the ancient Egyptians to assist in preventing diseases and maintaining good health. A study showed that almost all of 40,000 patients who participated in a colon cleanse regularly did not need surgery to treat gastrointestinal diseases.
So what is the need for detoxification and colon cleansing? The colon is like the body's sewage system. Its job is to get rid of all the pollutants and wastes that build up in the body from the food you consume and the environment around you. Just like you shower to clean the outside of your body, the inside needs to be cleaned out every now and then as well. If you don't clean out your colon you can start to become constipated. This is when toxins become trapped in the colon where they begin to ferment and decay. This can eventually lead to chronic diseases including hemorrhoids and even colon cancer.
There are many factors that can contribute to constipation and cause major illnesses. One of them is eating a poor diet. These foods include dead, cooked, low fiber foods, fried foods and over-processed foods. In this fast-paced world we live in nowadays, we are rushed to eat and tend to stray away from organic and fresh foods. Over-consumption is also a huge factor in a poor digestive tract. The faster and more food you eat make it harder for your digestive system to digest it properly. Because it cannot digest the food right way, the stomach will bloat and make you feel tired and heavy. A lack of water will also cause the toxins to fester in the digestive system and hinder the elimination process. The body is made up of 65-75% water and needs it to survive. The next cause of constipation is a lack of exercise. Exercise actually stimulates every system in our body and circulates the blood better. It pumps the lymphatic system which is responsible for getting the toxins and waste to our colon. No exercise means a sluggish and toxic body.
Many benefits can come from detoxifying and cleansing your colon. The first is obviously to get rid of the stagnant toxins and waste that have built up. It can also reduce the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome. If colon cancer runs in the family, making sure the colon runs smoothly is very important to try and prevent it. Weight loss is actually another benefit from detoxification. The average amount of waste that can come from a good cleanse is about 4 pounds but it's no surprise if 10-20 pounds is lost from it. A few other benefits include clear skin, increased energy levels, and the increased absorption of minerals and vitamins into the bloodstream.
There are a number of different ways to cleanse the colon and detoxify the body. Enemas, colonic fasting diets and laxatives are just a few ways to cleanse. You can also take natural supplements such as the Dual Action Cleanse kit which is actually a two part kit containing a colon cleanse and a total body purifier. Detox your body often and have better, overall good health!

Body Building Supplements To Control Appetite
By: Devon Perkins | 16/12/2009In the 1970s, weightlifting additions were only available through mail order, from those little adverts you saw in the muscle magazines. The powders arrived and tasted like shredded card. You chugged them down with some raw egg whites mixed in and dealt with the gastrointestinal discomfort for hours. In the 80s and early 90s, you had to make a special trip to the sole GNC in town. There, you could find all sorts of vitamins, weight gain powders, and mysterious elixirs which g...

Rather than worry about how much you can lift, you need to focus your attention on how fully you can train and fatigue the pecs themselves (rather than the arms, shoulders, back, quads, etc).
