Is your diet not working? If you have been putting forth your best dieting effort yet not making any progress then you are likely the victim of a slowed metabolism. But this is not a problem you have to live with, in fact by strategically planning an overeating or "cheat" day you will boost your metabolism and boost your weight loss. The real metabolism destroyer is eating too little. When you eat too little your hormonal system sends up a red flag warning about a possible famine and your body reacts to this red flag by dramatically slowing your metabolism in order to save your stored energy (you call it FAT).
A diet that is not working is likely due to a slowed metabolism due to a consistent lower calorie diet. What you need to do is get your metabolism back up to normal levels so your body feels free to burn fat again and the wonderful way to do this is to strategically overeat for one day a week.
Here is how to strategically "cheat".
You will need to diet or lower your calories for the first six days of the week and then on the last day of the week you need to take the day off and eat all of your favorite foods, pizza, fried chicken, cake, anything you want is okay. What this does is shuts off the red flag sent up by your hormones and the brakes are then taken off your metabolism.
Won't this cause weight gain?
This is a common concern but the way your body works is that your metabolism rebounds faster than your body's ability to create fat and so while you might experience some water weight this will easily be released and by the end of the week you will have a greater net weight loss.
