Eat Foods That Increase Metabolism and Lose Weight

If you are trying to lose weight, forget about diet plans that encourage starving yourself. You will be much more successful and lose much more weight by boosting your metabolism instead. There are many ways to do this. One effective way to increase your metabolism to eat the right foods. That’s right, certain foods can speed up your metabolism. And the good news is that you do not have to go to a special store to find these foods. You can find them in your local market or the grocery store.

I know what you are thinking; these super foods are exotic items that taste like crap. But you’d be wrong. Foods that boost your metabolism are very common items that you’ve eaten many times. The best metabolism boosting foods are: skinless chicken breast, fish, fat free cheese, olive oil, seasoning spices, sirloin, tenderloin, and tofu.

Even certain vegetables can speed up your metabolism. These include: zucchini, tomatoes, cucumber, eggplant, lettuce, mushrooms, spinach, artichokes, asparagus, beans, broccoli, cauliflower and celery.

If you focus your meal plans on the items listed above, you are well on your way to increasing your metabolism and losing weight. But just focusing on the right foods is not enough if you are serious about losing weight. If you really want to put your metabolism in high gear, you’ll need to exercise. Of course, before beginning any diet or exercise plan you should consult with your doctor.

Other ways of boosting your metabolism is by having smaller, more frequent meals. This means that you will be eating every four to five hours. And you should never skip your breakfast. Your metabolism slows down when you sleep. Breakfast helps to boost metabolism. If you make it a habit of skipping breakfast, your metabolism will remain slow until you eat your next meal. A slower metabolism can cause you to feel sluggish and tired. So, make sure you start your day with a healthy breakfast and you will feel much more alive and energized.
