Smoking can be a very addicting and deadly habit. If you or someone you know smoke cigarettes, you know just how powerful that nicotine can be. I bet you have tried everything to stop smoking like patches and gum and you name it, you have tried it. Until now, there really hasn't been an easy way for someone to quit smoking. A recent invention is revolutionizing the way people smoke.
The electronic cigarette is a relatively new invention that is spreading across the world like wildfire. It's because the electronic cigarette (or electric or e-cigarette) is very similar to the function and taste of a traditional tobacco cigarette. The e-cigarette works in the same fashion as a regular cigarette except that it doesn't need to be lit up and has no burning end.
The electronic cigarette is composed of 3 parts, the atomizer, the battery, and the nicotine cartridge. When a user inhales on the end of the electronic cigarette, the battery activates the atomizer. The atomizer then turns on and heats up the nicotine that is inside of the cartridge. The nicotine solution is made up of nicotine and propylene glycol, a substance that is commonly used in fog machines. The electronic cigarette works in a a fashion that is very similar to that of a fog machine.
When the user inhales the nicotine vapor, it gives them the same taste and feel of a regular cigarette but doesn't contain all of the thousands of deadly chemicals that regular cigarettes do. Traditional tobacco smokes have thousands of chemicals that are present in things like rat poison. These chemicals are what is inhaled into the lungs and tears them apart. With the recent advancements in micro technology, electronic cigarettes are able to be a device that doesn't have all of those harmful elements. In theory, this seems like a much healthier alternative. Although electric cigarettes haven't been around long enough to do any extensive medical research and no long term affects are known, it seems to be an obvious better choice than to use a product that is already known to kill people.
Financially, electronic cigarettes can save you thousands of dollars. If you smoke an average of a pack of cigarettes a day, you can spend almost $2,000 a year on cigarettes alone. With electronic cigarettes, the cost of the same amount of puffs is almost 75 percent less. This means that you could save over $1,000 a year just by making the switch.
You can also use electric cigarettes anywhere you want. Since the smoking bans in the United States only regulate the use of smoking products that contain tobacco, you are able to get your nicotine fix in places like night club, bars, and even airplanes. If you have never heard of or seen an electronic cigarette before, chances are that in the near future they will be just as common as a traditional tobacco smoke. They are already growing in popularity like nothing the smoking community has seen before.
